Syd Ginsberg

Syd Ginsberg was born in Brooklyn, NY and attended The Copper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art Where WWII veteran classmates assisted in her creative expression and growth. Syd has had her unique cat bronze sculptures as well as her drawings shown at many galleries in New York City, including the Hudson River Museum, the Art Gallery of Sarah Lawrence College, and the Greenwich Art Barn.  Syd spent 30 years living in Miquel De Allende, Mexico where her work has shown Instituto Allende, Galleria Libertad and Galeria Atenea, among others. Syd’s pieces represent the span of her impressive 77- year career.

Syd’s medium of choice is bronze, and that’s her strong suit. Her bronze pieces are human scale and smaller–mostly figurative, always distinctive. Her political and social sentiments are sometimes poured into the lost-wax. Though Syd’s forte is bronze, she is also a painter and printmaker. And she is prolific.
